# Language, dark mode, sounds and haptics

> Every switch behind the gear on your profile, and what each one changes.

The gear on your own profile opens everything. Settings are stored on your device, so they are per-install: changing the theme on your phone does not change it on your tablet.

## Language

Ntripi is available in English, French, Arabic, German, Spanish and Chinese. It follows your device's language when that is one of the six, and you can override it here.

Arabic switches the whole interface to right-to-left. The choice also travels with legal documents and this help centre when you open them from the app.

## Theme

System, Light or Dark. **System** follows your phone, including its automatic day-and-night schedule, and is the default.

Dark mode is a true dark, not a grey — worth knowing if you read plans in bed.

## Sound effects and haptics

Two independent switches. **Sound effects** are the small cues — a notification arriving, a rating landing. **Haptics** are the taps you feel, including one short buzz per star as you set a rating.

Each acknowledges itself with the setting you just chose, so you can hear or feel what you are turning on.

## Shake to report

On by default on phones: shaking captures the screen and opens a bug report. If you gesture a lot while reading, turn it off here — **Settings ▸ Support ▸ Shake to report**.

It is deliberately hard to trigger by accident: it wants two distinct shakes, ignores you unless the app is in front, and waits a few seconds before it can fire again.

## The rest of the menu

- **Account status** — moderation decisions and appeals
- **Blocked accounts** — everyone you have blocked, and one tap to unblock
- **Follow requests** — only shown if your account is private
- **Help Center** and **About** — including this site

Changing your password or deleting your account is on your profile's edit screen, under Security.
