# How to add travel warnings and tips to a trip > Four kinds of note — advice, caution, avoid and info — that render as coloured chips so nobody scrolls past them. The things that go wrong on a trip are rarely in the guidebook. Ntripi has four note types — **advice**, **caution**, **avoid** and **info** — that attach to a single stop or to the whole trip and draw as coloured chips, so a reader meets them rather than finds them. ## What each type is for - **Advice** — do this, and it will go better. "Buy the ticket online, the queue is an hour." - **Caution** — this is fine, but be careful. "Busy at night; keep your bag in front." - **Avoid** — don't. "The taxi rank outside overcharges; walk two streets and hail one." - **Info** — worth knowing, no action needed. "Closed on Tuesdays." The type only changes the colour and the label, so pick the one a stranger would read the way you meant it. ## Add a note to one stop Open the stop and add a note there. It belongs to that place and travels with it if you reorder the trip. This is where anything about a specific entrance, queue, opening time or local hazard belongs. ## Add a note to the whole trip From the itinerary itself, a note applies to the trip as a whole — visa requirements, the season, which SIM card works, what to pack. Trip-level notes are shown near the top, before the stops, because they usually need reading before anyone plans a day. ## Notes versus the notes field Every stop also has a plain **notes** field. Use that for your own reminders — a booking reference, what to order. Use a coloured note for anything a reader needs to *act* on. The difference is whether it should be easy to skim past. --- Source: https://ntripi.app/help/travel-notes-and-warnings
