How to plan a trip itinerary, step by step

In the Itineraries tab, tap +. You need a title to start; everything else can wait.

• Title — what the trip is. "Four days in Marrakech" beats "Morocco".
• Currency — every cost you record uses this, so the total adds up. Pick the one you will actually be spending.
• Cover image — optional, and you can add it later. It is what people see in the feed and in a shared link.
• Best time to visit — the months this trip works. Useful for anything seasonal.

Tap + inside the trip to add a stop. A stop holds:

• Name and address — what the place is called.
• Location — pick a point on the map, or paste a Google Maps link and let Ntripi read the coordinates out of it.
• Place type — food and drink, sleep, sights, nature, shopping and so on. This is what draws the right icon on the map and in the list.
• Cost — roughly what it costs per person. Leave it empty or mark it free.
• Time to spend — how long to allow. This is what makes a plan realistic rather than optimistic.
• Notes — anything you want to remember.

Add stops in the order you will visit them. You can drag them around afterwards.

Between two stops you can add a transit segment: how you travel, how long it takes, and what it costs.

A segment can have more than one leg — a bus to the station, then a train — and each leg can carry the line number and the direction, which is exactly the detail you cannot remember on the day.

Any stop, and the trip as a whole, can carry short notes in four flavours: advice, caution, avoid and info. They render as coloured chips so they are hard to miss.

This is where "buy tickets before you go" and "the north entrance is closed" belong — the things a plain itinerary never tells you.

New trips start as only me. When you are ready, open the trip's settings and pick one of four levels — public, followers, specific people, or only you.
