Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-08
Version 3.1By creating an account on Ntripi, you agree to the following terms.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
Creating an account means you accept these Terms of Service and our Community Guidelines, which form part of this agreement. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.
We may ask you to accept a revised version of these terms before you continue using Ntripi. If you do not wish to accept a revision, you can delete your account instead.
2. WHO MAY USE NTRIPI
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may only use Ntripi with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
We ask for your date of birth when you create your account and refuse accounts below the minimum age. If you sign in with Google and give us permission, we read the date of birth from your Google profile instead of asking you for it. Giving a false date of birth to get an account is a breach of these terms, and we will close an account we find to be under age.
3. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You are responsible for the content you publish — itineraries, stop details, notes, annotations, transport details, ratings and reviews, photos, and your profile — and for keeping your account credentials secure.
You must have the right to publish what you post, including any photograph you upload and any place description you write. Do not upload a photograph of someone who has not agreed to appear on Ntripi.
You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you believe someone else has access to it.
4. YOUR CONTENT AND WHO CAN SEE IT
You keep ownership of your content. You grant us the licence needed to store it, process it, and display it to the audience you have chosen through your visibility settings, for as long as you keep it on Ntripi.
Each itinerary has a visibility setting: only me, restricted, followers, or public. You choose it, and you can change it at any time.
An itinerary set to public gets a share link that works without an account. Anyone holding that link can open it, and search engines and social networks may crawl, cache, and preview it. Treat public as public: do not put anything in an itinerary you would not want a stranger, an employer, or a search engine to see.
Ratings and reviews you submit are content too, and the same rules apply to them.
5. ZERO TOLERANCE FOR OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT AND ABUSIVE USERS
There is no tolerance on Ntripi for objectionable content or for abusive behaviour towards other users.
You may not publish content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or that promotes illegal activity, and you may not harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse anyone using this service. Sexual content involving minors is absolutely forbidden. The full rules are set out in our Community Guidelines.
We remove objectionable content and terminate the accounts of users who post it.
6. MODERATION, REPORTING AND BLOCKING
Content you publish may be scanned automatically before or after it is shown, and may be hidden before a person has reviewed it. Automated scanning is not perfect in either direction: it can hide something harmless, and it can miss something harmful.
Every user can report content from inside the app, and can block any other user. Blocking cuts visibility in both directions. Reporters are never identified to the person they reported.
We may send you notices inside the app about activity on your account and about actions taken against your content.
7. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
We may remove or hide content, warn you, restrict your account, or terminate it, where you breach these terms or the Community Guidelines. Serious breaches can result in immediate termination without warning.
Where we act against you we will tell you what we did and why. You may delete your account yourself at any time from the app.
8. APPEALS
You can appeal an action from Settings, Account status. Appeals are read by a person.
Content involving minors is the one exception: it is not appealable.
9. YOUR DATA AND ACCOUNT DELETION
1. Your personal data (name, email, profile) will be deleted when you delete your account.
2. Ratings you submit on itineraries will be retained in anonymized form (score only, no identifying information) after account deletion. This preserves the integrity of community scores for other users.
3. Your itineraries and their content will be permanently deleted when you delete your account.
Records we are required to keep for legal or safety reasons are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. PRIVACY
How we collect, use, share, and retain your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement and is linked wherever these terms are published. It names every third party that processes your data on our behalf.
11. BUG REPORTS
When you report a problem from inside the app, you send us a screenshot of the screen you were on, the description you write, and basic technical details about your device. Only send a screenshot you are willing to share — it captures whatever was on screen, including anything belonging to someone else.
12. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND ATTRIBUTION
Ntripi uses services operated by other companies to run: hosting and image delivery, address search, sign-in, automated content moderation, and issue tracking for bug reports. They are listed in our Privacy Policy along with what each one receives.
Map data and geocoding come from OpenStreetMap, used under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Map imagery is served by the OpenStreetMap Foundation's tile servers.
Signing in with Google is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy in addition to ours.
13. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED AS IT IS
Ntripi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content on it is accurate.
Travel information on Ntripi is written by other travellers, not by us. We do not verify it, and you rely on it at your own risk. Always check local conditions, laws, entry requirements, and safety advice from official sources before you travel. Nothing on Ntripi is safety, legal, medical, or financial advice.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or travel costs, arising out of your use of Ntripi — including anything that happens to you while travelling on the basis of information you found here.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims relating to Ntripi is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty euros.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
15. INDEMNITY
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from content you publish on Ntripi, from your breach of these terms or the Community Guidelines, or from your infringement of anyone else's rights. This does not apply where the claim arises from our own act or omission.
16. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator of Ntripi is established, and the courts of that country have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country in which you live, nor of the right to bring proceedings before your local courts where that law gives you one.
17. APP STORE TERMS
Where you obtained Ntripi from the Apple App Store, the following applies:
These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Ntripi or its content, and has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
If Ntripi fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund any purchase price you paid for it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation of any kind with respect to Ntripi.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to Ntripi, including product liability claims, any claim that it fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation. Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, or discharge of any third-party claim that Ntripi infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo, or designated by the United States government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
Where you obtained Ntripi from Google Play, Google's own terms apply to that distribution in addition to these terms.
18. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may revise these terms as the service and the law evolve. The version and date shown with this document tell you which revision you are reading. Where a revision is material, we will ask you to accept it in the app before you continue.
19. CONTACT
