What's new in Ntripi

Updated 2026-10-07

Ntripi is in active development ahead of its public launch. Each release below names what changed and why it might matter to you.

0.4.0 — Read trips in your language#

Updated 2026-10-07

  • See translation under a trip, a stop or a review translates it into your app language; See original switches back.

  • Feed titles in your language. Public trip titles arrive already translated — unless they are in a language you speak.

  • Take over from a stop's page. Tapping the pencil on a stop someone else is editing now says who and offers to take over; editing a stop there also starts editing the whole trip.

  • Thoughts on transport. What the author wrote about a leg — which car to board, where to buy the ticket — now shows under it, while you edit too, folded to two lines with view more, and translates with the rest.

  • Your change is saved before you stop editing. Tap ✓ while a change is still saving and Ntripi says so, then leaves edit mode once it is saved. If the save fails you stay in edit mode, with the reason.

  • Closing the app while editing no longer leaves the trip held. The next time you open it, Ntripi lets go of it first, instead of telling you that you are editing it on another device.

  • Remove a follower, or unfollow from your lists. Remove beside someone in your Followers list — or Remove follower in the ⋯ menu on their profile — ends their follow, and they are not told. Following beside someone in your Following list unfollows them.

  • Back works after you open a notification. What a notification opens now always has somewhere to go back to — usually the screen you were on, otherwise your profile — and offers Go back even when the trip or person it was about is gone.

  • Shared links open in the app. A link to a trip or a profile now opens it in Ntripi when the app is installed — after you sign in, if you were signed out. Without the app, the page offers it, or See the full trip to sign in and open it on the web.

  • A clear answer when a trip can't be opened. A link to a trip you may not see, or one that was deleted, now says so — with a way back — instead of an error with a Retry button.

  • Links to private trips show nothing in a chat. The preview of a trip shared with followers or specific people no longer shows its title, cover photo or owner — only that it is a private trip on Ntripi.

  • Shared pages show a preview. Without an account, a link shows a trip's title, cover photo, rating and description — or a profile's name and photo — in the same look as the app. The rest is one free sign-in away, and the sign-in screen says what is waiting.

  • A new cover photo saves with the rest. Changing a trip's cover along with its title, currency or best time to visit no longer asks you to reload — it is all saved at once.

  • Copy just the link. The share popup has a new Copy link row that copies the link alone, without the trip's name, stops and length. On the web, the share button offers it too.

  • Shared links go where you already are. Signed in to Ntripi in your browser, a shared trip or profile opens straight away instead of its preview, and on a phone the page offers Open in Ntripi. The web app's address bar now shows the page you are on, so a reload keeps you there.

0.3.0 — Collaborative editing, push notifications and a help centre#

Updated 2026-09-01

  • Invite people to edit a trip. An owner can now grant edit access to other accounts, with one person editing at a time so nobody's work is overwritten.

  • Push notifications on iOS and Android, for follows, ratings, saves and moderation notices.

  • This help centre, with everything above written down.
