How to add places, costs and time to a trip plan
A stop is one place you will actually be. Beyond its name, the two fields that make a plan usable are cost and time to spend — they are what turn a list of places into something you can budget and fit into a day.
Add a stop#
Open the trip and tap +. Give the place a name — what you would call it out loud, not its official title — and an address if you have one.
Stops are added in visiting order. You can drag them into a different order at any point afterwards.
Choose a place type#
The place type draws the right icon on the map and in the list, so a day reads at a glance. There are eleven:
- Eat & drink · Sleep · Buy
- Learn & see · Sight · Entertainment
- Play & watch · Nature · Heal & bathe
- Pray · Travel
It is optional. A stop with no type still works; it just looks the same as every other untyped one.
Record what it costs#
Enter the rough cost per person, in the trip's currency. Approximate is fine — the point is the total at the end, not an invoice.
If a place is free, mark it free rather than leaving the field empty. Empty means "I have not looked into it", and the difference matters to anyone reading your plan.
Record how long to allow#
This is the field that stops a plan being a fantasy. Four sights in an afternoon looks reasonable as a list and impossible once each one carries ninety minutes.
Allow the time you would actually want there, not the minimum it can be done in.
Add your own notes#
The notes field is free text — booking references, what to order, which entrance to use, why you picked this place over the one nearby.
For a warning that should be hard to miss rather than read in passing, use an advice or caution note instead: those render as coloured chips.
