How to report a bug in Ntripi
Shake your phone. Ntripi captures the screen you were looking at, hands you a pen to circle the problem, and sends it with your note. It is far faster than describing a layout in words, and it attaches your device and version for you.
Shake the phone#
Anywhere in the app, at the moment something looks wrong. A screenshot of that exact screen is captured.
It takes two distinct shakes, so a walk or a bus ride will not trigger it. It is also ignored while the app is in the background, and waits a few seconds before it can fire again.
Circle the problem#
Draw straight onto the screenshot. One circle round the wrong thing removes an entire paragraph of explanation.
You can navigate while the reporter is open if you need to capture a different screen.
Pick a category and describe it#
Choose one of: crash, visual, data, slow, or other. Then say what you did, what you expected, and what happened.
Nothing is sent until you tap send.
What gets sent with it#
Your note, your category, the screenshot, and technical details about the device and app version — the things that are tedious to type and are always the first questions.
The screenshot has its metadata stripped like any other upload. It is never shown to another user, and bug reports are deleted once they are closed and stale, because a screenshot can contain someone else's information.
On the web, or with the gesture off#
Browsers have no shake, so on the web use Settings ▸ Support ▸ Report a bug, which opens the same reporter.
If you turned the gesture off on a phone, the same menu item still works. To turn it back on: Settings ▸ Support ▸ Shake to report.
